While current events are university focused, many relics of the oil days remain in and around the Bowling Green area. After World War II ended, the influx of returning soldiers and their baby boomer children greatly increased the size of the university, as well as the surrounding city. During World War II the University helped train Navy personnel. By the 1930s it became a fully fledged university. The college was established in 1910 as Bowling Green State Normal School to train teachers along side its sister college in Kent. They key to whether or not someone is a Summer is that they are most harmonious in soft, cool colors. I am almost positive that Tyra Banks is a Summer, for instance. Even women of color can be Summers, but they do tend to have relatively lighter skin and generally have an eye color other than brown. That doesn’t mean, however, that all Summers have light hair nor do they even have to have light skin. Nature paints these people in soft pastels brushed with blue, like a Monet painting – quiet and peaceful. Summers are lit by twilight – the light as the sun is going down on a Summer evening. To be a Summer, you may not fit all of these descriptions and adjectives as they are certainly generalizations. One trait I find to be almost universal with Summers is that they make decisions slowly and may get tied up in details. Many tend to be frugal and also collectors – they don’t like to throw much away. Although they are usually soft on the outside, they have a determination to them that can surprise you as many are also stubborn and/or strong-willed. They are often quiet spoken, responsible, practical, efficient, organized, understanding, and diplomatic. What Summers generally have in common is a gentle energy. ![]() Ranging from the princess – like Grace Kelly or Kate Middleton – to the Bohemian like Ashley Judd or Angelina Jolie. This is also true for the people of the Summer season. There is a lot going on and a lot to notice underneath the surface. ![]() If you look at the picture of the summer garden, it’s complex. Are you a Summer? Summer Personality Traits Hence, the people of the Summer season often have a soft, peaceful nature. It’s like the landscape is washed in soothing lavender bringing a sense of relaxation and calm. The hot sun beating down results in blended and muted hues while summer showers create cascading flowers that flow over trellises along with lush gardens. Although there is lots of foliage in the summer, there is a blended quality as well. The summer months bring a change in the quality of the color. When I picture the Summer color palette, I think of the English country garden – soft, blended, and diffused. So, let’s start with the season of Summer. ![]() Not only does each season relate to particular color qualities, but also design style and even personality. The seasons, however, go beyond best colors. A personal color analysis is the tool that enables you to determine your season, and thereby, your best colors. When you utilize the colors that are inherent in you, people are focused on you and not your clothing. The goal of seasonal color analysis is to create visual harmony by selecting a color palette that relates to your natural coloring. ![]()
![]() ![]() If the Sim was in platinum aspiration, their urn or grave will be gold and white and will show the symbol for their aspiration. Then Death will pack the Sim's bags, and the Sim, still being timid, will smile and slowly head off to the afterlife. Death will then hold his arms out as if to hug the Sim, then will give them a tiki glass with a lemon on the side. Death will slowly point at the dying Sim in a non-angry way, and the Sim will back up, and act shy. Two Hula Zombies will appear in the room, and relaxing Hawaiian music will play. If the dying Sim is in gold or platinum aspiration, Death will come wearing a pink Hawaiian lei and will have a white smoke trail. The Sim walks there, and an urn or grave (plain grey) is created. The Grim Reaper then snatches it back, and angrily points in a direction. The Sim will then try to grab the hourglass out of Death's hand and try to flip it back over. If they have any aspiration level from failure to green, the Grim Reaper will come with a black trail of smoke, and hold up an empty hourglass, meaning that the Sim has no more time to live. When Sims die of old age, there are two life endings they can get, based on their aspiration. The Grim Reaper walks towards the dead body and turns them into a grave. When a Sim dies of starvation, fright or by disease, they stand up, wave their hand (if dying by starvation), collapse on their knees and then curl up into the fetal position. So far, he has only been known to get a blended drink from a minibar, watch television, relax on a bed, use the toilet, and/or play on the computer. On occasion, he will interact with one of the items in the house before leaving. (The question of why he might want or need money is left to the imagination.) If the last Sim on the lot dies, one of a variety of sardonic messages will appear. With the University expansion pack, he can be bribed to resurrect dead Sims with the Resurrect-O-Nomitron, which is the career reward for the Paranormal career track. Through the use of cheats, a biography of him can be seen containing some tongue-in-cheek information. Olive Specter has memories of WooHoo with him and giving birth to Nervous Subject shortly after, though this is impossible in normal gameplay. In The Sims 2, the Grim Reaper's appearance is different from that in other games: he is grey and wraithlike rather than skeletal and black. In Get a Life mode, if he reaps the soul of a dead Sim, a game over will result, and the player will lose all progress and be forced to start over from the beginning or from the last save game. As in the PC version, the Grim Reaper can be plead with by Sims to attempt to have a dead sim get a second chance at life. He appears whenever a Sim dies due to a fire and comes to collect their spirit. He appears similarly to his appearance in The Sims: House Party, though his icon in those games show a white skull in a black cloak robe. The Grim Reaper appears in the console versions of The Sims and The Sims: Bustin' Out. If the Grim Reaper is in a good mood, however, he will challenge the pleading Sim to a game of rock, paper, scissors - if the pleading Sim loses, the dead Sim will be resurrected as a zombie if they win, however, the Sim will be fully resurrected.ģ0 March 2011 Appearance in The Sims (console) and The Sims: Bustin' Out If the Grim Reaper is in a bad mood, the Sim will die regardless. When the Grim Reaper appears, he will move over to the dead Sim and wave his scythe, and any adult Sim can plea with the Grim Reaper and attempt to save the Sim's life. Bonehilda is a huge fan of the Grim Reaper, and will try to get an autograph from him when he's present while she's out of her closet. There is a suggested malevolence about him, as can be seen from the results when Sims plead with him. In addition to his appearance when a Sim dies, he will also appear and ring the doorbell if there are more than five Jack-O-Lanterns on the lot, a reference to trick-or-treating. 1.6 Appearance in The Sims 2 (Nintendo DS)īiography Appearance in The Sims: Livin' Large.1.2 Appearance in The Sims (console) and The Sims: Bustin' Out.1.1 Appearance in The Sims: Livin' Large.Under normal circumstances, the Grim Reaper himself cannot die. In need of cash, Brach's sold Andes to Tootsie Roll Industries in 2000. When Jacobs Suchard was sold to Kraft General Foods in 1990, Brach's was kept separate by owner Klaus J. When Jacobs Suchard bought Brach's in 1987, Andes became part of that division. In 1980, Andes was purchased by the Swiss candy company Interfood (later Jacobs Suchard). As such, he changed the spelling of the business to "Andes Candies." The mints were first launched in 1950. While he initially called his store "Andy's Candies" in reference to himself, Kanelos realised that his predominantly male customers did not like giving boxes of candy with another man's name to their wives and girlfriends. In 1921, Andrew Kanelos opened a small candy store in Chicago, Illinois. First launched in 1950, they are produced by Tootsie Roll Industries and made in Delavan, Wisconsin. Its success has spawned a host of other tasty Andes candies, including:Ĭherry Jubilee: Same trademarked 3-layer rectangular construction as Andes Crème de Menthe, with a flavored middle that includes real bits of cherries. The individually foil-wrapped, bite-sized pieces enhance any social gathering or event, yet remain equally popular as self-indulgent treats.
